Ignite Your Passion for Books and Transform Your Life

Launched in 2020, the Readership Academy was created to inspire and guide individuals on their journey to becoming avid readers. Unlike a traditional academy, it’s more of a movement—designed to instill a lifelong love for reading while teaching the techniques and strategies of great readers and leaders. Whether navigating different genres or looking for ways to improve reading habits, the academy provided the foundational support needed to become a better, more engaged reader.

The academy initially offered a range of modules, each focusing on specific aspects of reading that helped participants get “on the reading train.” These resources laid the groundwork for a community passionate about personal growth and shared knowledge.

Initial Modules Included:

The Art of Reading: Explored the myths, keys, and goals behind effective reading habits.

How Busy People Read: Shared strategies for integrating reading into even the busiest schedules.

Reading Comprehension 101: Provided the fundamentals of understanding and analyzing texts.

Fundamentals of Reading Speed: Introduced techniques to read faster while maintaining comprehension.

Reading Aids and Accessories: Examined tools that enhance the reading experience.

Vocabulary Development through Reading: Focused on building vocabulary naturally by engaging with a variety of texts.

How to Get Loved Ones and Dependents on the Reading Train: Offered tips for encouraging others to develop a love for reading.

Book Club

The Readership Academy also birthed a vibrant Book Club, which initially started with two books a month during its first two years, later transitioning to one book per month. The process was interactive: members were assigned a book to read, and each month one member was selected to lead the review, after which others shared their insights and thoughts.

To encourage deeper connections, local cell groups were formed based on geographic locations, making it easier for members to meet and discuss in person. While the organization assisted in sourcing many of the books, part of the reading exercise included finding some books independently—fostering both independence and engagement.
